The Church Office Assistant reports to the pastor and is responsible for many of the administrative functions involved in the running of Presbyterian Church, 100 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, to include the miscellaneous items including but not limited to mail, bulletins, mailings, record keeping, filing, etc.
This position also acts as a liaison with members of the congregation and the community, both in person, on the phone and via e-mail. In addition, the person in this position plays a key role in making those who use our facility always feel welcome, making them a point person in our Church. The position is for 5-8 hours per week. Work hours are to be developed in cooperation with the pastor and according to need but will generally be mid-week (with negotiated flexibility). This is a part time temporary position with no benefits.
This individual should be a self-starter, flexible, detail oriented, and will work well with little or no supervision and able to respond to the needs of the church. He/ She should have the necessary expertise to complete assignments in a timely and accurate manner and the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with members of the congregation and the community. A knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and Church Windows software would be desirable.
