Welcome To New Brunswick Presbytery

Our historic presbytery was organized in 1738 and has been a vibrant member of the Presbyterian family for more than two centuries. Our oldest organized church was founded in 1688. The forty-one churches that make up our presbytery are located in urban, suburban, and rural areas. Each congregation is involved in mission and ministry throughout their communities, our state, and world. We are a part of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the Synod of the Northeast. New Jersey Missional Communities Reorganization Documents and Position Papers

At the Synod Assembly meeting on 24 October 2020 the synod passed a motion to form an administrative commission to execute the plan for the New Jersey Missional Communities reorganization of the presbyteries in New Jersey. The charge to that administrative commission has been published by the synod and it can be found by clicking NJMCAC Charge Approved 2020-10-24 by Synod Assembly. The execution of this charge is dependent upon the vote of the New Jersey presbyteries as to whether or not they will participate in the reorganization. The charge does give a lot of information about how the plan will be executed if the presbyteries approve it, and how the transition will be managed.
